I first searched from Korea town's Almandine, Bosco Bakery, Paris Baguette to Baker's Bench, What I Kneeded, and finally to Kitchen Mouse before I got my memorable flaky light and vanishing fix! (Not to mention the first visit complimentary pb&j cookie!). The venue is a Haight-Ashbury time capsule or parallelogram. I offered to swap out their potting soil for Zoodoo fir a nominal fee and even pitched my children's book Jamylah and the Giants

Yay for first review of the year! Wanted to go back to visit Highland Park after having been just once in the evening, and saw that this place was highly rated for breakfast. The aesthetic is super cute and cozy; I love their green color scheme. The prices aren't too cheap, but not too expensive either. For example, their breakfast sandwich is in the $15 range but their lattes are $7. Their menu has a lot of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and nut free options which is always great. Everything tasted pretty good!

Some of my favorite vegan options in Highland Park! I always meet my local friends here who love to laze here for hours on end on days off, and it's a great place to munch on some bites & catch up. Everyone on staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. It's a NELA staple for a reason!

Came here to meet with a local friend since I was in LA for the day. I didn't realize that Kitchen Mouse had a larger restaurant front in addition to a bakery, and I found myself at the bakery first since that's where my Lyft driver dropped me off. I ended up getting a matcha latte with oat milk and a rosemary bagel with herb spread made with cashew. I was able to take everything next door to their larger restaurant, and my friend and I were able to find seating outside that accommodated her dog as well! My bagel tasted nice when warmed up and toasty! And I don't think anyone would be able to guess the cream "cheese" spread being vegan! If I had known about the restaurant side being separate, I definitely would have checked out their menu first!

A friend recommended Kitchen Mouse, and I'll admit I was skeptical. Vegetarian? Would I actually enjoy it? The truth is, I loved it. If I could, I'd come here all the time. Plus, there's plenty of street parking, which is a bonus! When you walk in, the space feels warm and inviting, with lots of tables inside and plenty of natural light pouring in. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, which adds to the charm of the place. We ordered the lemon blueberry pancakes, the buffalo bowl, the morning glory bowl, and the Moro cakes. Everything was delicious, but the Moro cakes stole the show for me and the sauce they came with was next level. I'm still dreaming about it! This spot truly exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to come back.

Cute and cozy cafe in my hometown of Highland Park. Went for breakfast and to get a few pastries. Staff is friendly and go above and beyond. Food is fresh and delicious. Highly recommend their breakfast chilaquiles and espresso bar. Their scratch-made pastries make me feel less guilty about indulging! Unique selection of gifts and souvs too.

Last night we went to Kitchen Mouse for dinner. They recently started offering dinner on the weekends. I'm not sure how long it's going to be offered, but go while you still can. There was room for walk-ins but also reservations on Instagram. Food was absolutely delicious and beautiful presentation. We hope they continue this going forward!

Got a few baked goods to go and they were so yummy. My daughter LOVED the strawberry cupcakes. Server was thoughtful about her nut allergy and we were in and out. Cute space for breakfast/brunch with a friend.

Kitchen Mouse has become a favorite local staple for me. I have been there more times than I can count and am happy to share that it is worth the small wait in line. I love the vintage piggy banks and the hanging plants in macrame. The pastels and the kiddy corner, are all too homey and sweet. Whats not to like!?!? The staff is so friendly and attentive. Do plan to come here and wait in line to order before you grab a table, thats just proper Kitchen Mouse etiquette. You can't go wrong with this place. My favorite dishes are the jos breakfast sandwich, breakfast tacos, and jackfruit tacos. Oh and the smores bar is the best thing you will ever have.
